India vs New Zealand: Tim Southee and Corey Anderson return to boost Kiwis in ODI series

Dharamsala: New Zealand will welcome back their most successful bowler and most destructive batsman on Sunday at the start of a five-match ODI series against a below-strength India after a mauling in the Tests. Tim Southee (centre) is New Zealand’s most successful bowler in ODIs. Reuters Tim Southee, whose 135 one-day wickets put him at the top of the chart of New Zealand’s current players, missed the recent three-match Test series with an ankle injury as his teammates were whitewashed by their hosts. But the 27-year-old’s return should give the Black Caps a much-needed boost for the series opener in the Himalayan hill station of Dharamsala where the chillier conditions will be far more familiar for the tourists. (Football) Man United flop Depay saves Dutch blushes PARIS: Out-of-favour Manchester United winger Memphis Depay came off the bench to score twice and save the Netherlands’ blushes in Luxembourg in World Cup qualifying on Sunday. On an evening when Europe’s minnows came close – but ultimately fell short – of springing some major upsets, Depay gave United manager Jose Mourinho a reminder of his worth just as the Dutch were sliding to an embarrassing draw. The 3-1 victory over Luxembourg keeps the misfiring Dutch in the hunt for a place at Russia 2018, but they will need to play an awful lot better if they are to trump the twin threats of table-toppers France and Sweden in Group A. Arjen Robben had a chance after a quarter of an hour for the Dutch, but ...

In the Habs' Room: Key cog on new scoring line hits a snag LOS ANGELES — Michel Therrien’s line juggling produced some offence for the Canadiens, but there was a shadow hanging over the team following its 5-4 shootout win over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday afternoon. Max Pacioretty, Alex Galchenyuk and Alexander Radulov started a game together for the first time this season and they combined for three goals. But Galchenyuk, the team’s leading scorer, left the game early in the third period with what appeared to be a leg injury after making contact with Anze Kopitar.
